More often than not, even recently, we read of a supposedly learned man proclaiming that his WhatsApp was hacked.and used to reap off his important contacts of money. Well, many times, the device owner was too careless to let the hack happened. How do I mean?

Everyone is supposed to be committed to protecting their privacy and ensuring optimum financial security.

Today, I have curated a comprehensive guide to help you stay ahead of fraudulent activities that could be targeted at infiltrating your personal social media accounts, especially WhatsApp.

Here’s a summary of all you need to know!

1. Be Vigilant:
Watch out for suspicious messages or calls from unknown numbers.

Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unfamiliar sources.

Do not share your verification codes or one-time passcodes [OTPs] with anyone, even if they claim to be from WhatsApp support.

2. Enable 2FA (Two-Step Verification):
We strongly recommend enabling Two-Step Verification for an added layer of security.

To activate this feature:
Open WhatsApp and go to Settings.
Select Account and then Two-Step Verification.
Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your unique PIN.

3. Regularly Update WhatsApp:
Ensure that you are using the latest version of WhatsApp. Developers regularly release updates to address security vulnerabilities, so keeping your app up-to-date is crucial.

4. Review Linked Devices:
Periodically check the devices linked to your WhatsApp account. If you notice any unfamiliar devices, immediately log them out via Account Settings.

5. Secure Your Phone:
Set up a strong password, PIN, or biometric authentication for your phone to prevent unauthorised access.

6. Stay Informed:
Stay informed about the latest security threats and updates by following only official announcements from WhatsApp and other reliable cybersecurity sources.

Your security is paramount and by following these simple steps, you can insulate yourself from cyber threats that abound these days.

If you notice suspicious activity or have any concerns, please contact your bank immediately.

Now, if all these measures had been put in place, the man mentioned earlier wouldn't have his WhatsApp compromised. He may have clicked on a baited link. Anything.

Cheers.

WhatsApp has loads of loopholes. Only hackers and system security guys know.

If you know some things, you won't use even Android anymore. Seriously
