The child calls me “Mother” if only she knew that.
“Mother”
My daughter called and I looked up from the book I was reading.
“Yes darling”
I said as I looked into my daughter beautiful baby blue eyes, her charming smile always gives me comfort and Joy each time I see it.
“Why do we have to live life”
She asked, looking innocent as she looked at me with her wide eye.
This time I froze, wondering why this question but I also remember there was a time in my life that I also wonder why we have to live life, I mean we were raised by our parents just to grow up and also raise kids.
Sounds boring right!
I thought so too.
I mean there has to be more to life than this right!
I kept looking at my angel wondering to myself.
She calls me “Mother” but does she know that it seems like yesterday when I was also just a little clueless girl as well and does she know that, I also have no idea what am to do or how to go on and it takes shear determination and looking at her charming smile for me to push myself further and tell myself it’s all worth it.
Finally I smiled at her lovingly and said.
“you know honey, when you find what you love in life you’ll realize why we have to live life and why it’s all worth it”
Gina is just 12years old but she often ask questions that are beyond her age, so inquisitive and I love he for it.
As she walked back towards her room I watched her go and I remember the day I also told someone that I wouldn’t want a boring life.
What do I mean by boring.
You know the routine of waking up, going to work and coming back home.
Yeah, that’s boring but now I realize that small things we consider boring or insignificant becomes interesting and significant when we share with people we love.
Some love their job, some family and some love adventure.
All these and more are valid meaning for life, so that at the end of your life you can look back and say.
“Yes, have had a good run”
Find what you love and you’ll find the purpose of life.
